Private Investigators Target Counterfeiters

INKSTER, MI -- Inkster police and private investigators cooperated on an undercover investigation and raid which has netted hundreds of counterfeited items. Among the items seized are designer clothing, perfumes, and accessories. The prosecutor's office may press charges against the retailers of the fake items. Inkster is the latest in a number of US cities to crack down on counterfeit goods. Many designers are working with private investigators to track down the manufacturers and retailers of fake products, in a bid to reduce the billions of dollars of losses that counterfeiters represent for the industry.
