Private Investigators New Book Takes a Look at Craft Case and Justice

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Eric Echols, a Georgia private investigator, has written a book about his work on the Tonya Craft case. According to the book, Echols was arrested for his work on the case and says he faced a manipulated justice system as he worked to clear Craft from charges of child molestation. Echols was accused of intimidating witnesses but those charges were dropped. The private investigator says that he has tapes of his interviews with witnesses, proving that he did not intimidate them. The book, The Echols Files: Catoosa County Justice, is available through Amazon.

Hollywood Private Investigator to the Stars Denied Bond

LOS ANGELES, CA – U.S. District Judge Dale Fischer has denied bond for Anthony Pellicano, a California private investigator known for working with celebrities. Pellicano is currently serving a 15 year term after tapping the phones of celebrities. Pellicano’s attorney argued that the private investigator is suffering from health problems and is indigent but prosecutors argued that Pellicano is a flight risk.

Car Maker Hires Private Investigators After Car Fire

ANAHEIM, CA – Fisker Automotive Inc. has hired private investigators from Pacific Rim Investigative Services Group Inc. to investigate a fire that occurred in one of its Karma luxury sedans. The sedans retail for over $100,000 each and this is the second known fire to affect one of the cars. The company has sold more than 1000 of the vehicles, which have a gas-powered engine but an electric motor. According to the company, they can find no mechanical defect that would have caused the fire.

Investigators Sought for Financial Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC – The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is reportedly looking to hire some private investigators in order to make a case against the US financial institutions that contributed to the 2008 financial crisis. The organization has put out a recruitment ad, stating that they are looking for private investigators with surveillance expertise. According to the ad, investigators can earn $98,000 to $149,000 annually for the job.

Authorities Claim Private Investigator Impersonating a Peace Officer

WOODLAND, CA – Police have arrested California private investigator Anthony Vegas, accusing him of posing as a parole agent. On multiple occasions Vegas allegedly tried to get information about a child custody case by claiming to be a parole agent from California. Vegas did formerly work as a parole agent in that state but is retired and his ID was falsified to look as though he was still an active agent. Vegas also had a badge to help him pose as a peace officer. Vegas was apprehended after a clerk at the Sheriff's Department's records office called police after becoming suspicious about Vegas’ ID.

Missing Persons Case from 1970s Gets Social Media Boost

AUSTRALIA – Joanne Ratcliffe was 11 and Kirste Gordon was 4 when they went missing in 1973. Their families have been seeking them for well over three decades and now a woman has stepped forward via social media saying that she may have new information. The families of the girls have been using Facebook to try to revive public interest in the case. Now that more information has been provided, the families have gone to police and authorities are reviewing the new information. A group of private investigators, who want to remain anonymous, have also been working on the case for three years.
