UK PIs Still Seeing Plenty of Work in Tough Economic Times |
LONDON, ENGLAND - The Association of British Investigators reports that more people in the UK are hiring PIs to uncover cheating partners. According to the association, there are currently about 10,000 PIs in the UK working on infidelity cases, insurance fraud investigations, missing persons cases and other work. It can cost a private individual more than £1,000 a day to hire PIs, but despite the cost and the recession, many people are cheating and many partners are hiring PIs.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL - Many churches, residents, synagogues and municipalities are installing GPS devices on their nativity scenes and holiday decorations to keep these items safe from pranksters and thieves. In the town of Wellington, Florida, the baby Jesus has been stolen from the town's nativity scene two years in a row. The original Jesus was a hand-made ceramic figurine imported from Italy and worth an estimated $1,800. Last year, authorities placed a GPS inside the replacement figure and were able to track down the item when it was stolen again. The cameras showed a teenage girl stealing the baby Jesus from their nativity scene at Christmas. Could nativity security services from PI firms be far behind? |

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - In Israel, voters will be able to contact the Interior Ministry via text message or phone to confirm their appearance on voter rolls. The move has some security experts worried. Private data about voters - including birth dates, identification numbers, addresses, telephone numbers and names - have been leaked before. Experts claim the new way to contact the Ministry could result in new security leaks. Some claim that more personal information will be easily accessed by hackers, businesses and PIs. PIs have admitted that they can pick up CDs of the Population Registry at the headquarters of political parties. |
