Did Young Victim Jump? PIs Aim to Find Out |
ATHENS, OH - Almost 35 years ago, the body of 18-year-old Tim Cline was found in the Hocking River. At the time, authorities concluded that Cline had been using drugs and had accidentally drowned while under the influence. Cline’s family has hired PI Thomas L. Edgell because they do not believe that conclusion. Edgell agrees, noting that Cline had no connection to the area and would have had to drive a long way to the Hocking River – apparently for no reason. The PI also has uncovered inconsistencies among those who were last to see Cline alive. |

PIs Hope to Unravel White House E-Mail Scandal |
WASHINGTON, DC - PIs likely will be running electronic discovery, as well as other investigations, of the Executive Office of the President (EOP). It appears that the Bush administration lost more than 10 million emails, and the administration archives may not be properly kept. There also are allegations that emails have disappeared from the EOP archives. Investigators continue to probe into the apparent non-compliance with the Presidential Records and Federal Records Acts, which requires executive branch agencies to properly archive all official correspondence for public record. |

Rights In Parental Abduction |
ASHEVILLE, NC - A recent article in the Citizen Times points out that parental abductions are the most common cause for childhood disappearances. The article points out that, there is little local law enforcement can do when both biological parents have rights to custody. In this situation, the parent who is not with the child can file a civil action for custody and visitation. In these cases, a PI usually is needed to find the parent and child. |

Ohio Supreme Court Considers Open Records Law |
CLEVELAND, OH - The Ohio Supreme Court is debating new laws involving access to court records. Some are claiming that the new rules may break constitutional law. The new rules would allow the public to access court records unless those records are sealed. PI Vince Catalogna, a Columbus PI, weighed in on the case noting that some people may try to close records out of identity theft concerns, but in reality it would be to hide their past. |
