SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – For PIs, social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are playing an increasing role in investigations. One of the largest PI companies in Australia now hires staff specifically to search for missing persons and other fraudsters online using social networking sites. The company reports finding 30-40 debtors and felons a week through social networking sites. |

Attorney Suggests Redlight Operators Are PIs Without a License |
CLARKSVILLE, TN – Attorney Greg Smith, challenging red light cameras in Clarksville, has filed a motion that claims that camera operators act as PIs and need to be licensed as such. The camera operator in the city is Redflex and the attorney claims that any evidence gathered by the company on their cameras should be deemed as inadmissible since the camera company is essentially operating as an unlicensed PI. |

Bourne Fire Department to be Investigated by PIs |
BOURNE, MA – The Bourne Fire Department has been plagued by problems, including a vote of no-confidence against Town Administrator Thomas Guerino, questions about Lt. Kelli Weeks’s sick leave and union problems. Enough questions have been raised that the city is slated to hire PIs to investigate the troubled fire department.

PIs Battle Drugs in Sports |
WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND – New Zealand is cracking down on doping in sports by hiring PIs. Drug Free Sport NZ is not only testing athletes but now also trying to uncover and stop the source of drugs. The budget for the organization has been expanded to include money for PIs. Drug Free Sport NZ will be working with other groups, including Medsafe and the New Zealand Customs Service, to reduce athlete’s access to performance-enhancing drugs. |
