Debate Over Hiring PIs in Haverhill |
HAVERHILL, MA – Haverhill Councilor Robert Scatamacchia has suggested that the city hire PIs to investigate residents who are registering their cars in nearby New Hampshire to avoid paying taxes. However, Police Chief Alan DeNaro has said that local authorities do not need assistance in investigating fraud. |

PIs and Police Resolve Differences |
WADMALAW ISLAND, SC – Evidence seized in the investigation into Katherine Waring's death sparked a debate between PIs and local police. PIs investigating Katherine Waring's death found the woman’s remains and gathered evidence at the scene. When police arrived at the scene, they seized the evidence as well as the cars belonging to the PIs, igniting a legal battle over who had rights to what. |

Increasing Safety with Surveillance in China |
MACAU, CHINA – The Macau area of China will have 400 surveillance cameras installed, especially in commercial and tourist areas, to improve safety. Secretary for Administration and Justice Florinda Chan has said that public safety and traffic congestion will be considered when deciding where to place the cameras. |

Investigating Arson in Detroit |
DETROIT, MI – Insurance companies are setting up a program to investigate arson in the Detroit area. In Wayne County, arson is the official or suspected cause of 50% of all fires, and insurance companies have formed the Michigan Insurance Fraud Awareness Coalition and have earmarked over a million dollars for a two-year project to investigate arson in the area. |

PI In Hot Water with the Law |
SEATTLE, WA – PI Jaemichael Henderson is in legal trouble for allegedly failing to deliver PI services as promised. The family of Nicole Pietz, a woman who was killed three years ago, allege that they hired Henderson after he claimed he had evidence in the killing. Recently, Henderson was in court facing charges of theft. His PI license has been revoked after the department of licensing found Henderson was negligent and may have been guilty of misrepresentation and even malpractice. |
