Did PIs Affect Winnie-The-Pooh Case? |
LOS ANGELES, CA – A lawsuit has been brewing since 1991 over the copyright and royalties for the famous Winnie-the-Pooh characters. The suit involves producer Stephen Slesinger, who received rights to the characters from A. A. Milne in 1930, and the Walt Disney Company, which received rights to the characters from Slesinger in 1961. A PI's misconduct had caused the case to be thrown out of court.

PI Says Teens Bring Business |
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – PI Vic Pichette of Genesis Investigations notes that he is seeing more business because of teenagers. He has seen a growing trend in his field: parents hiring PIs to check up on their teens to ensure that their kids are safe. Pichette treats these cases like all domestic cases, noting that in many cases, parents are worried about drugs or poor peer groups. |

PI Stands Behind Hopkins |
NEW YORK, NY – Former WRKO Host, Reese Hopkins, is in prison accused of statutory rape. Hopkins has a supporter in PI Sean Mullen. Mullen is vice president of the PI firm National Investigation Bureau Inc. and a regular guest on the TV program 48 Hours. Mullen has publicly asserted his belief that Hopkins is “100% innocent.”

PI Claims Defamation |
EAST ST. LOIS, IL – PI Alva Busch and Metro Investigations have filed a suit, alleging that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has defamed them causing a loss of business. The case involves articles written by Nicholas Pistor concerning the Illinois Capital Litigation Trust Fund. According to attorneys for Busch, some of the articles made untrue accusations about Busch’s billing practices and role in the trust. Through his suit, Busch is seeking over $250,000 in damages. |

PI Believes Missing Woman Still Alive |
PHILADELPHIA, PA – PI Eileen Law has been hired by the family of Toni Sharpless, a woman who has been missing for more than a month. Sharpless disappeared after leaving a party. At the party, she appeared to be intoxicated and her friends unsuccessfully tried to persuade her not to drive. Law was hired by the family and has told media that Sharpless was seen in New Jersey since her disappearance. |

PI Discusses Crisp & Cole Case |
BAKERSFIELD, CA – Crisp & Cole is a real estate company which closed down among numerous questions regarding Carl Cole, the real estate magnate running the business. PI Harold Raymond was hired by Fremont Reorganizing Corp, a company suing Crisp, Cole & Associates and has logged more than 100 hours in the case interviewing subjects. Raymond found that a number of people in the upper echelons of the company committed fraud, while other employees were intimidated or pressured to keep quiet. |
