PIs in Japan |
TOKYO, JAPAN - In recent years, Japan has seen an increase in divorces and an increase in requests for PI services. PIs offering surveillance and help with cheating spouses are especially in demand as more women refuse to put up with abuse and infidelity. PI firms such as GNC, which has branches across Japan, find that employee background checks, infidelity cases, computer crime and domestic abuse cases are the most common cases. Of all of these, however, infidelity cases account for the highest percentage of PI work. |

Pellicano Case Closed? |
LOS ANGELES, CA - It looks as though Hollywood PI Anthony Pellicano may be running out of appeal options. A federal judge has denied the PI's request for a new trial. Pellicano claims that jurors may have been unduly influenced during his trial by an attorney’s comment outside the court and by a popular blog. Pellicano has been found guilty of racketeering, wiretapping and related charges. |

PIs Hired to Crack Down on Graffiti |
SOUTH AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - In South Auckland, PIs have been hired to track down criminals who illegally spray paint graffiti on private and public property. The Manukau City Council has been paying PIs to crack down on tagging in the area. Councilor Dick Quax notes that surveillance work to catch taggers also has uncovered burglary suspects and has lead to arrests in assault cases. He also notes that since tagging leads to more serious crime, it's smart to make tagging a priority. |

PI's Wife Seeks Husband in Iran |
TEHRAN, IRAN - The wife of former FBI agent and PI Robert Levinson is seeking to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to discuss the case of her missing husband. Levinson allegedly went missing in Iran while conducting PI work and now his wife, Christine Levinson, wants to see President Ahmadinejad when he travels to New York. Christine Levinson has had no luck with official investigations - Iranian officials claim they have no proof that the PI disappeared on Iranian territory and do not know where he is. |
