Proposal: Teachers to Have Guns in Michigan Schools

GRANDVILLE, MI - Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville hopes to permit teachers at Michigan schools to carry guns to make classrooms safer. Under his plan, teachers, administrators and other school employees could carry concealed pistols. To carry guns, school employees would need to pass background checks, become proficient with weapons and pass safety classes. The major teachers union in the state vows to fight the bill, stating that no guns in schools is the best policy and that guns belong in the hands of authorities.

"Dr. Phil" Defense Allowed Documents

LOS ANGELES, CA - "Dr. Phil" can have access to documents about two brothers who were once suspected in the case of an Alabama teenager who vanished while on vacation in Aruba. The brothers claim the "Dr. Phil" show altered portions of a secretly recorded conversation between Deepak Kalpoe and a private investigator to "create false, incriminating, and defamatory statements that the plaintiffs engaged in criminal activity against Natalee Holloway." The documents were sought as part of the talk show's defense against the brothers who sued last year, claiming defamation, fraud and invasion of privacy.
