PIs Needed to Crack Down on Resume Fraud? |
PHOENIX, AZ - Employers considering hiring new workers might be interested by a recent CareerBuilder.com survey, which shows that 10 percent of applicants admit to lying on a resume. Arizona State University business professor Marianne Jennings finds that figure low. At the Arizona State University business school and other business schools, school applicants are charged an additional investigation fee. The money is turned over to a PI firm that checks the resume for falsifications. |

South Africa PIs in Big Demand |
EAST LONDON, SOUTH AFRICA - PInow.com advertiser, Christian Botha was featured in a news article claiming that demand for PIs in South Africa is increasing, partly because of citizens' dissatisfaction with police work. The report goes further to suggest that many have lost faith in the South African Police Services while even authorities are turning to PIs to crack big cases. Several PIs from the region are quoted in the piece saying that business is increasing and demand for PIs specializing in complex investigations is very high. Some PIs are signing 50 new private clients monthly.

Friends of the Calverts Hope to Raise Money for PIs |
BLUFFTON, SC - John and Elizabeth Calvert disappeared in March, leaving few clues behind. Now friends and family have organized fund raising events - including a cruise - to raise money for the Calvert Reward Fund. The fund will provide reward money to encourage anyone with information to come forward, and also will be used to hire PIs, who can help the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office look for information. |

PIs to Crack Down on Medical Attacks |
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - Last year, 1,000 incidents of physical and verbal violence against health care workers were reported in Israel, but only 14 attackers were charged. The country will now spend NIS 2.5 million to make medical practices safer. The Israel Medical Association has decided to hire a PI firm to look into complaints and to help victims of attacks gather evidence that can be used to prosecute attackers. The PI company will provide a 24-hour staffed number that medical staffers can call. A representative from the PI company will then visit victims of the crime and help them file a complaint. |
