PIs Help Create A Happy Reunion |
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Toddler Benjamin Kaiser-Griffin went missing over a month ago from a suspected abduction. His mother believed that the child’s father abducted him. The boy is now back in his Arizona home, thanks in part to the efforts of PIs, local authorities and a website. PIs, police, and the owners of NationalVigilForHope.org all searched for Kaiser-Griffin, who was located in Florida and returned safely to his mother. |

PI Up for Teaching Award |
STERLING, CO – Professor Jim Stewart at Northeastern Junior College has worked as a PI with Advanced Private Investigations, LLC, as a police officer, and has held many other positions in the field of law enforcement. He is now a professor and has been distinguished with becoming one of the finalist for the Rising Star Award in 2009. The teaching award is being offered in part because of Stewart’s expertise and in part because of the assistance he is able to offer. |

PI Company Behind Babysitter Screening Service and Site |
OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The website seekingsitters.com aims to help local families find qualified, pre-screened babysitters. Creator of the website, Adrienne Kallwert, said she was inspired to start the site after she found out that one of her own babysitters had an unsavory past. Using her family’s PI company, Kallwert runs background checks on the babysitters included on the website, so that parents know they are getting a pre-screened sitter. |

Is the Public Responsible for Surveillance Society? |
ANDOVER, MA - Larry Starkey is a professor at the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover. In his classes and research, he has found that surveillance society is a current reality – not something in the distant future. Part of the problem, according to Starkey, is that citizens are not strongly opposing surveillance. In fact, the professor has found in his studies that many citizens and individuals are not disturbed by the idea of a surveillance state. |

More Fallout from the PI Scandal |
LONDON, ENGLAND – PInow.com staff have been eagerly following the news story concerning British journalists who hired PIs to illegally gather private information about celebrities. It now seems that British laws may be changed due to the scandal. The UK's Information Commissioner has stated that laws should allow judges to jail persons who violate personal data laws. BBC journalist Christopher Graham has spoken out to say that Data Protection Act penalties are "pathetic" and do not discourage unscrupulous journalists or PIs.
