Repo Agent Hires PIs, Sees Surge in Business

ORLANDO, FL – Ken Cage owns the repossession firm International Recovery & Remarketing Group. As the economy has slowed, Cage has found that business has been booming. In 2008, the company saw triple the repossession rates of the past two years combined. Cage’s company repossesses RVs, planes and boats with a team of repo agents, pilots and boat captains. In addition, the company often hires licensed PIs as agents.

    Madeleine McCann Investigation Continues

    LONDON, ENGLAND – The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is continuing with PIs hired by the family. Australian socialite Melissa Karlson has a yacht that has been linked to a clue in the case. PIs note that the yacht was seen near Barcelona a few days after Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, and one theory is that the child was transported by sea out of the resort city of Praia da Luz, where her family had been living.

    PI Found Guilty of Forgery

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – PI Paul Edward Moody Sr. has pleaded guilty to forgery and has been sentenced to house arrest for three months. The PI forged a veteran’s signature in order to obtain records belonging to the veteran. Moody will have to pay a $3,000 fine and will be under supervised release for three years after his house arrest.

    PI Worries Families in West Mesa Case

    ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Last year, police found 12 sets of remains on the West Mesa. Now, families of those possible victims are claiming that a PI hired for the case is not providing them with full information about the case. PI Dr. George Walker is working on the case pro-bono and has stated that he has talked with families openly about the case. Yet, some families are noting that Walker has refused to return phone calls from them or speak to them about the case.

    Model Sues Magazine for Surveillance

    TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Model Lin Chiling is suing Next Magazine, alleging the publication had her under surveillance and trespassed on private property, violating her privacy. The magazine allegedly and illegally kept tabs on the model and broke into her home to gather information about the model’s love life. Chiling notes she had to hire PIs after images of the interior of her home were published in the magazine and the model became convinced that spy cameras may have been installed in her home.
