Database Information Leaked to Sex Offender

COLUMBUS, OH – When registered sex offenders move into an area, neighbors are supposed to be alerted and given the name and photo of the offender. However, sex offender Pearly Wilson claims that in his case, he was able to get detailed information about his neighbors from a prosecutor – including names and Social Security numbers.

Mel Gibson Hires PIs

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Actor Mel Gibson, accused very publicly in recent months of racist rants, domestic abuse and other unusual behaviors, is allegedly hiring PIs to investigate the witnesses in his case. Gibson is seeking custody and a separation from his partner, Oksana Grigorieva, who alleges the actor was abusive.

PIs Affected by Law Changes in Canada

TORONTO, CANADA – A decision in a court case (State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. v. Privacy Commissioner of Canada) as well as amendments to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act may change the restrictions the Privacy Commissioner of Canada imposes on PIs. Currently, PIs can be hired to launch private investigations in cases where evidence of criminal activity or contract violation exists.

Missing Person Still Sought

CHICAGO, IL – Luda and Roma Gimelfarb have been seeking their son, David, who went missing while traveling in Costa Rica a year ago. Rescue workers searched for David for months, but Luda and Roma Gimelfarb remain convinced that their son will be found.
