PIs on the Recyclables Case

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Garbage companies and weekly newspaper publishers are hiring PIs in order to catch those who poach curbside recyclables for profit. The lost revenue caused by the poachers threatens curbside recycling programs by depriving the programs of money. Stealing recyclables from bins is already illegal in many cities. Currently, San Francisco poachers face fines of up to $500 and six months jail time if caught. Norcal Waste in San Francisco hired private investigators and installed surveillance cameras.

Both Binto and PIs allow pharmaceutical companies to keep tabs on patients longer – even when patients move. Laws mean that most clinical trial sponsors do not know the identity of their patients, which makes tracking the patients difficult without professional help.
