The Iowa Association of Private Investigators is gearing up for its 25th anniversary celebration at the annual IAPI conference. The two-day event will take place July 22 and 23 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Conference speakers will be presenting on topics including small-business advice, cell tower forensics, investigative reporting, vehicle black box technology and counter-surveillance measures. Attendees can fulfill the mandatory 12 hours of continuing education units by participating in these lectures.

Labs Help Spouses to Determine Infidelity

PHOENIX, AZ – Chromosomal Laboratories in Phoenix and other labs across the country note that they are often contacted by suspicious spouses to determine whether a partner is cheating. Labs routinely get clothing, bedding, and even condoms to test. Using DNA technology, these labs can often determine whether a spouse has been unfaithful.

Bill Concerns ACLU Attorneys

LOS ANGELES, CA – A bill currently working its way through the House of Representatives has a measure that has some attorneys concerned. The measure would allow the inspector general of the Defense Department to investigate attorneys who may be accused of interfering “with operations" of the DOD while representing Guantanamo Bay detainees. Many groups claim that the measure would allow any attorneys representing detainees to be investigated.

Breakthroughs in Missing Persons Cases Years Later

NEW YORK, NY – The cases surrounding missing children Etan Patz and Madeleine McCann have seen breakthroughs recently. Etan Patz disappeared on his way to school on March 25, 1979. He was six years old. The suspect in the case, Jose Antonio Ramos, admitted to killing the boy, but no conclusive evidence was found. No body was found either.
