Google Maps as PI Tool?

CHICAGO, IL – The media has written much about PIs who use social networking sites, but many of those stories focus on sites such as MySpace and Facebook. A new report suggests that Google Maps may also be a good investigative tool. Recently, for example, a photo capture of Chicago on Google Maps shows a young boy pointing a gun at a younger boy.

Families Want More Say in What Happens to Crime Scene Pictures

QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA – A homicide victims' support organization is calling for new rules to give families of victims more control over how crime scene photographs are used. The statement comes shortly after crime scene photos of murdered teenager Leanne Holland appeared on the Internet.

Toronto Security Professional Charged for Not Having a License

TORONTO, CANADA – Trevor Smith, owner of Protective Security Consultants, and a former animal cruelty officer with the Toronto Humane Society, has been charged with operating a security guard business without proper licensing. In late April, police executed a warrant and seized documents and other evidence from Protective Security Consultants.

SILICON VALLEY, CA – Since 2007, the embattled company HP has hired a number of new attorneys, including Mike Holston, Ashley Watson, Bruce Ives, and John Schultz. At the time, attorneys were hired in a poor corporate environment.
