PI Makes Progress in Mystery of OU Student's Death |
ATHENS, OH - Retired police detectives turned PIs, Kevin Gannon and Anthony Duarte, have made progress in the case of Keith Noble Jr., an Ohio University freshman who drowned a decade ago. The PIs have been able to link Noble’s death to dozens of similar drownings involving young men. Gannon and Duarte have found that more than 40 male college students drowned in a similar way. Their deaths, too, were ruled accidents although the PIs believe they were actually homicides. Many of the crime scenes had graffiti depicting a smiley face, another clue that the deaths were linked. Athens Police are going through old photographs and looking at crime scenes to find evidence of the graffiti. |

Women Bodyguards Preferred? |
INDIA - In India, more women are entering martial training in Mumbai after studies have shown that women celebrities are choosing trained women bodyguards more often. In fact, demand for women bodyguards is so high that a private security services firm has set up a special training program to fill the need. PI Raj Talele is training the women to become qualified bodyguards. The bodyguards are taught aikido, judo karate and are given some weapons training. Bodyguards also must pass driving lessons and English classes. The program Talele runs initially attracted only two potential bodyguards, but now has twenty students. |

Save Happy Valley Coalition's PI Claims He Did Nothing Illegal |
NEW ZEALAND - Gavin Clark, a PI with private investigator Thompson Clark, was involved in infiltrating the Save Happy Valley Coalition in New Zealand. His methods have been scrutinized, but Clark insists that his methods were aboveboard. Despite this, many now accuse the PI of violating the Crimes Act regarding unauthorized access to computers. Clark admitted in media interviews that he asked a prospective mole whether the mole had access to computer codes, hoping to use those codes to enter the Save Happy Valley Coalition computer systems, a clear violation of the Crimes Act. |

PI Pellicano a Thug? |
LOS ANGELES, CA - Prosecutor and Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Saunders called infamous Hollywood PI Anthony Pellicano a "well-paid thug," referring to Pellicano’s practice of using wiretaps and other illegal methods to dig up dirt on behalf of his Hollywood clients. Saunders made closing arguments and defense attorneys are expected to make their closing arguments this week. |

PIs in Israeli Jailed |
ISRAEL - Four members of the Israeli Modi'in Ezrahi private investigation firm have been jailed in Israel for applying spyware to industrial espionage. The four PIs were found guilty of using spyware to steal information from clients’ competitors in order to help clients gain a commercial advantage. The malware was written by Michael and Ruth Haephrati and was used on a number of companies, including HOT cable television group. |
