Research Database Offers Alerts |
CHICAGO, IL - Record Information Services offers a database of public records and information gleaned from public records. The database website allows users to be updated when a specific target's public records are altered. For example, a company keeping track of a competitor can be alerted when that competitor filed bankruptcy. A PI investigating a target can be informed if a target gets a DUI charge or is suddenly arrested. |

Husband and Wife PIs Hold State Positions |
HOUMA, LA - Maria and Paul Dugas own and run Dugas Legal Investigations. Recently, Maria Dugas was appointed by Gov. Bobby Jindal to the Louisiana State Board of Private Investigators Examiners. Maria is the continuing education and training chairperson on the board and a member-at-large. Last October, Paul became president of the Louisiana Private Investigators Association. They have recently added a journeyman's license option, permitting PIs to work at multiple agencies. |

Security Guard’s Shooting Sparks Call for More Workplace Protection |
TORONTO, CANADA - Security guard Alex Lewis and others in the field are calling for changes to the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act after a security guard was shot in Toronto's Yorkdale Mall. The guard at the mall was wearing a Kevlar vest, which saved his life when a gun was fired during an arrest at the mall. Currently, the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act does not require security companies to offer their employees body amour or bullet-proof vests. |

Utility Group Denies Spying and PIs |
PARIS, FRANCE - EDF, France's utility group, has been accused of spying after one of its security personnel admitted to paying PIs to hack computer systems belonging to Greenpeace and other anti-nuclear groups. EDF is now denying spying. Greenpeace and other groups are revising their security measures in light of the information revealed. |
