Lueders Comments on Media Professionals, PIs |
MADISON, WI - Earlier this month, the Professional Association of Wisconsin Licensed Investigators named news editor Bill Lueders "Person of the Year" for his work as a reporter and as president of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council. In speaking of his award, Lueders compared the television portrayals of reporters and PIs - both, are inaccurate. He noted that both jobs involve getting information and being professional rather than glamorous. Lueders believes that it's important for both professions to cut through the misconceptions the public has and to show how ethical both industries really are. |

A PI Cautionary Tale |
ORILLA, CANADA - The Ontario Provincial Police Anti-Rackets Branch is investigating two PIs who allegedly provided false information and data to clients. The two PIs — Cullen Johnson of Internal Affairs Investigations and Elaine White of World Solutions Incorporated have been charged with fraud. The two were allegedly hired to run financial investigations, but provided their clients with false financial information. |

Newlyweds Cheating |
SEATTLE, WA - A study conducted at the University of Washington Center for the Study of Health and Risk Behaviors has found that women and men admit to cheating at a rate of 20 percent (men) and 15 percent (women), a significantly higher rate than 15 years ago. Also, according to both the study and a report by Women's Health, even newlyweds are not immune to cheating. Women's Health suggests that newlywed men cheat because they are anxious and feel stress about marriage. |

Director Makes a Movie Protesting his Involvement in Hollywood PI Case |
LOS ANGELES, CA - Film director John McTiernan may be indicted in the wiretapping case involving Hollywood PI Anthony Pellicano, and he's protesting with a new movie. McTiernan, who has directed films such as The Hunt for Red October and Die Hard, is accused of lying to an FBI agent about his involvement with Pellicano. |

Charities Facing Theft, Considering PIs |
LONDON, ENGLAND - Clothes Aid, a charity that collects clothes, will be meeting with other charities at a summit on April 23. One item on the agenda is what to do about stolen collection bags. Clothes Aid and other charities that run clothes collections have been finding that their donations are being stolen. Clothes Aid plans to ask other charities to work together to hire PIs to cut down on the thefts. In 2008, two people from the company Polotex were charged with stealing from Clothes Aid donation bags. Both were fined and sentenced to 14 days of jail. |
