Book Identifies PI Positions as "Dream Jobs" |
WASHINGTON, DC - David Rosen is the author of a new book, What's That Job and How the Hell Do I Get It? The book lists a number of dream jobs and provides intimate profiles and insider views of the careers. In addition to traditionally glamorous jobs, Rosen lists being a PI as a dream job. He also notes that PIs can have a difficult time on the job, because in some cases, clients will be unhappy whether a PI does his or her job well or poorly. |

Recent PI Raids on Counterfeiters Raise Concerns About Fakes |
SOUTH BEND, IN - A number of raids by police and PIs on counterfeiters in New York have raised some concerns among customers about how they can tell whether products they purchase are illegal. PInow.com advertisers from Edward R. Kirby and Associates have stated that the number of counterfeit shoes found recently made the raids one of their top 10 busts ever. Michigan Bill Addresses Public Sale of Tasers |
GRAND LEDGE, MI - A new Michigan bill would allow those with valid concealed weapons permits to carry Tasers. Current state law only permits licensed PIs, law enforcement and corrections officers, military personnel, pilots and crew members to carry and own weapons using electric currents. The new law would allow Michigan residents to buy single-shot civilian Tasers. Advocates of the bill say that Tasers are safer than guns, while critics say that the devices can still be dangerous and could cause many injuries if the devices were available to the public at large. Currently, residents of 43 states are allowed to carry Tasers. |

Recovery Service Agents See More Business |
RENO, NV - Due to an economic downturn and a sagging housing market, repossessions have increased 15 percent between 2006 and 2007. This year, repossessions are expected to increase another 10 percent. In addition to more business, recovery service agents also are finding that they are repossessing more in high-end neighborhoods. The Nevada State Private Investigators Licensing Board regulates repo companies in Nevada. There, as in other states, repo businesses must follow certain rules and must be licensed and bonded. Recovery service agents report that sometimes debtors have been trying to hide assets, meaning that PI work is needed to repossess some cars. |

A PI and Web Designers Help Find Missing Persons |
PI Carl A. Bartol and web designers Ophelia Nicholson and Linda Jackson have teamed up to develop WordPress blog themes to help find missing persons. The themes have an automatically updating banner from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Bloggers who use the theme ensure that every blog visitor sees information and pictures of missing persons. The goal is to get the information out to as many bloggers and Internet users as possible, in the hopes that someone in cyberspace will have information about the missing individuals.
