FaceBook May Halt Crimes |
CANADA - Saskatoon Crime Stoppers has launched a Facebook group. The organization hopes that “friends” of the Crime Stoppers will share information and tips that can solve crimes. So far, the Facebook group has attracted PIs, government officials, television and radio personalities, teachers and business people. |

Are PIs Recession Proof? |
TAMPA BAY, FL - A recent article on Tampa Bay Online uncovered some historical research suggesting that PIs tend to do fairly well in a recession. Recessions create more crime due to poverty and unemployment, thus security services and alarm systems sell well. Also, PIs may do well in a recession because theft and fraud tend to prosper in a recession, necessitating some investigations. (As a PI, what have you experienced? Bridgeport Doctor Not Missing |
BRIDGEPORT, WV - Dr. Ray Harron, an area radiologist, is no longer missing and is now seeking to have the case against him dismissed. Harron faces charges of civil conspiracy, racketeering and fraud. Last October, a law firm filed court documents stating that they were unable to serve Harron with court papers because he could not be found. Deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and PIs searched for the doctor, but could not find him. It was assumed that Harron had fled the country to avoid facing the charges. |

PI in Coroner Race |
FORT MILL, SC - PI Pete Skidmore is asking the York County Coroner’s Office to look into suspicious deaths, independently of the police. Skidmore currently is in the running for the coroner’s position. He is running against Jim Chapman, a former coroner. Skidmore’s vision for the office includes an independent agency that would allow the coroner to conduct independent investigations of a death. The coroner would be able to take videos and pictures of crime scenes. |
