Microchips Aid PIs, Worry Privacy Advocates

CANADA - RFID technology allows companies to broadcast information about customers to company databases. Other forms of microchip technology already are being inserted into some computer printers, car tires, car keys, home appliances, credit cards and even store tags. The microchips potentially allow companies to peek into a customer's private life and gather information about what a customer is buying, where they are buying it and how they are paying. In the future, PIs, identity thieves and police could use this technology to gain access to information.

Valentine's Day a Time to Uncover Infidelity, Say PIs, Experts

NEW ZEALAND - PIs and other experts say that Valentine’s Day is the ideal time to catch unfaithful partners, since partners who are having an affair often are buying gifts for their partners and trying to spend time with both their spouse and their new partner. This sort of pressure causes unfaithful partners to make mistakes, which makes the infidelity easier to uncover. PIs say that the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day tend to be busy ones, as spouses hire PIs to get answers about mysterious receipts, phone calls, text messages and other clues.

PHOENIX, AZ – Fears of a recession and a difficult housing market have created difficult times. Landlords in Arizona are sometimes so eager to rent out their properties and pay off their mortgages that they rent to just about anyone. This is something that Arizona police say results in nuisance calls and damaged property. The City Council in Surprise, Arizona recently passed a rental accountability ordinance which attempts to crack down on out-of-state landowners and “slum landlords.” The police force of the city advises landlords to hire licensed PIs to run background checks on potential tenants.
