Texas PI Subject of New NBC Show |
SAN ANTONIO, TX - PI Charlie Parker has become the subject of a Hollywood investigation. When Jenna Fischer, well-known for her work as Pam on The Office, read an article on Parker in The New Yorker she decided to develop an NBC drama-comedy series based on his life. The show will not use Parker's name, but he will serve as an ongoing consultant to the show. |

PI Companies Expanding |
SARNIA, ONTARIO, CANADA - PI firm Hughes Intelligence will expand from 10 employees to between 70 and 80 employees by the summer in order to meet demand. Now that Ontario has passed a new law demanding that security personnel be licensed, trained, uniformed and equipped, PI firms are expected to see more business from companies needing security. |

McCanns Hire More PIs |
LONDON, ENGLAND - Gerry and Kate McCann, the parents of missing toddler Madeleine McCann, have hired a new team of PIs in their quest to find their daughter. The couple have already hired several high-profile firms. The couple hopes to learn what became of their daughter, who went missing while the family vacationed in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz in 2007. |

Toronto PI Loves Variety |
TORONTO, CANADA - Bill Joynt, president of The Investigators Group Inc., a PI agency, works largely on business cases, fraud cases and cheating spouse investigations. With more than 20 years of experience, Joynt has helped police in cases many times, but lately has focused on business cases. He says the best part of his job is being able to help people and being able to be involved in so many different types of situations. |

PI Case Ends on Grisly Note |
LOS ANGELES, CA - Daniel LaPorte, who went missing in 2005, allegedly ran marijuana from Mexico on a regular basis. His parents hired PIs to find out what happened to the young man, and reportedly paid more than $100,000 to the team of PIs. Recently, the case came to a grisly close when human remains were discovered in Baja, California. The remains were concealed in a barrel of chemicals, but were positively identified as the remains of LaPorte. |
