FAIRFAX, VA - A recent workers’ compensation case in Virginia involved a woman who had reflex sympathetic dystrophy which affected her left and right arms. The woman claimed she could not complete specific tasks – notably grocery shopping – without assistance, but PIs hired by an insurance firm were able to show the woman performing these tasks on her own. Interestingly, her attorneys were still able to get her compensation based on alternative evidence of her disability, but the case highlighted the role PIs play in insurance claims.
