A department investigation is underway in Schenectady after four Vice Squad officers have been accused of misusing time for personal reasons. According to a report in Wednesday’s Times Union, the officers are alleged to have been working out at a local gym and going to an area restaurant while on the clock. The report says the City hired a private investigator to monitor the officers’ whereabouts.
These new allegations come on the heels of a number of other issues within the Schenectady Police Department. This past December, five officers were accused of using excessive force on a DUI suspect.
It is not clear at this time if any charges have been filed.
