Exceptional Investigation Services is owned & operated by James F. Maley, a twenty year veteran of the New York State Police. During his career he supervised hundreds of police officers and civilian employees while holding the ranks of Trooper, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major and Staff Inspector.

His experience and integrity resulted in assignment to the Internal Affairs Bureau where he investigated criminal activity and employee misconduct committed by police officers. The investigations covered many activities including police shootings and fatal high-speed pursuits where training and performance were always in question.

Mr. Maley’s investigative skills enabled his findings to successfully withstand Union challenges, State Commission Hearings, lawsuits and court appeals.

He has expertise in the areas of Criminal and Civil investigation, Human Resources, EEOC, Title VII Civil Rights Violations, Collective Bargaining Agreements, Interview Techniques and Surveillance.
