Suspected Arsonist Carried Fake Private Investigator ID

SPRINGFIELD, MO -- Adam L. Grant, accused of arson, also faces charges that he impersonated a private investigator and police officer. Grant is accused of seeking entrance to Cathie Andrews’ home by claiming to be a police officer and showing Andrews a badge identifying himself as a Missouri private investigator.  Andrews, believing that Grant was a police officer, allowed Grant to leave her home with her teenage granddaughter. Police eventually found the girl with Grant and returned her to her home.

Private Investigators on the Case of Missing Fryer Oil

LOS ANGELES, CA -- According to the New York Times, companies are increasingly turning to private investigators, surveillance, and other methods to track used fryer oil. It sounds far-fetched, but for the companies that collect used fryer grease from restaurants, used cooking grease is big money and some companies are concerned that the grease is being stolen. The companies use the grease for biofuel. Grease collection from commercial businesses is now regulated in Virginia and California, but according to the rendering companies that collect the grease, it is difficult to get law enforcement and the courts to take the problem seriously and pursue thieves.

Vet Seeking Lost Dog Turns to Private Investigators

SCOTT COUNTY, IL – Vet Dr. Michael O'Banion is turning to Illinois private investigators to help find his missing dog. The pet, missing since December 19, is a red Irish setter. The dog went missing after chasing a deer, and O'Banion is concerned since the pet requires regular seizure medication. O'Banion has hired investigator Karin TarQwyn to find the animal. TarQwyn found the animal’s scent with the help of dogs, but the trail ended abruptly, leading the investigator to conclude that the animal was picked up by a car. There is a $2000 reward for bringing back the missing dog.
